THE TRAINING JOURNAL

3 Pillars Of Training

Our training philosophy is built on three essential pillars. Each chapter builds on the last, giving you and your dog a clear path from foundation skills to real-world reliability.

Chapter 1: Teaching Your Dog The Markers — Learn the foundational communication system that makes all other training possible.

Chapter 2: Teaching Basic Commands — Build on markers to teach reliable sit, stay, come, and more.

Chapter 3: Distraction Levels — Graduate to real-world reliability by training at increasing levels of distraction.

OUR STAFF

Meet The Trainers

Michael DePace — Founder, Obedience Training, Off-Leash

The emphasis in obedience training is on teaching your dog to respond to commands and learning where boundaries are set. When a dog completes this type of training, the dog parent may expect their pup to reliably and predictably respond to basic commands like, "come." Obedience training is a valuable tool for dogs and owners who want to build a lasting and meaningful relationship.

Camryn Durant — Obedience Training, Behavior Modification, Off-Leash

The Foxy Dog also specializes in exposing dogs to life outside their neighborhood through a structured day program involving hikes, agility, impulse control, and frustration tolerance. Unlike obedience training, the goal of behavioral training is not to get the dog to comply with a command. Instead, the focus is on rehabilitation or the rewiring of the dog's responses to certain conditions or stimuli.
